Biographical Dictionary of Canadian Jewry, 1897-1909

This work contains information about the personal lives of several generations of early Canadian Jewish families provided by Canada's first English-language Jewish newspaper, The Canadian Jewish Times. The records include familial and social relationships, communal activities as well as religious ceremonial events like birth and death dates, Bar Mitzvah celebrations, engagements and marriages. In addition, information concerning occupation and businesses are included. As a sequel to A Biographical Dictionary of Canadian Jewry, 1909-1914, this is a rich database for Canadian research.
