This database contains index cards documenting awards and honors received by Canadian service personnel between 1900 and 1962, including gallantry awards, foreign honours and awards, Royal Red Cross awards to Nursing Sisters, and more. Among other details, some cards include the citation for the meritorious action. Citations were first published in the London or Canada Gazette.

Details vary somewhat, but the cards may provide the following information for each recipient:

  • name
  • honour or award
  • date of action and date of award
  • regimental or service number
  • date of birth
  • place of birth
  • rank
  • unit
  • citation (in some cases)
