About U.S., List of Interred Soldiers of the U.S., Army, 1827-1889

This collection includes interment lists of U.S. Army personnel maintained by the Office of the Quartermaster General until the 1864 creation of the Sixth Division (Barracks and Quarters), and beginning in 1867 by the Cemeterial Branch when the Sixth Division was disbanded. They are arranged alphabetically by name of cemetery and thereunder by military unit.

The records typically include the soldier’s name, rank, company, regiment, date of death, cemetery name, grave number, and, if they were relocated, the original place of interment and remarks.
