This index was compiled by the Oregon State Archives and includes people who were living in Oregon and Oregon Territory between 1800 and 1860. The initial data came from the 1850 and 1860 censuses, with additional information extracted from other censuses, probates, and vital records. Because Washington Territory originally fell within Oregon Territory, you will find some Washington Territory residents who were extracted from the 1850 territorial census.
