This collection contains School Lists (Zensurbücher) from Ebersberg covering the years 1824 up to and including 1912. Ebersberg is the administrative center of the district of the same name in the German state of Bavaria. The city is situated about 19 miles east of Munich in the foothills of the Alps. Ebersberg’s history is closely tied to the Benedictine monastery founded there in the year 934. During the time period of this collection, Ebersberg belonged to the Kingdom of Bavaria.

What you can find in the records

School lists were kept each year by teachers. They recorded a student's performance for the quarter or semester and formed the basis for report cards. They were provided to the responsible "Inspectors" during visits and inspections. School Lists came in book form. Entries covered two pages divided into columns in table format.
