About Wales Topographical Dictionary, 1844

This database is an alphabetical dictionary of the topography of Wales. It provides historical and statistical descriptions of several of Wales' counties, cities, boroughs, corporate and market towns, parishes, chapelries, and townships. It also includes a map of the different counties and engravings of the arms of the bishoprics and seals of the various cities and municipal corporations. Gazetteers and topographical dictionaries, like this one, are very useful sources for genealogists because they help us locate and learn about the places our ancestor's lived.
