This database contains a collection of approximately 1,500 images (photographs, paintings, or artistic renderings) regarding wars and conflicts with U.S. military involvement from 1765 to1970. Some of the wars with events depicted in this collection include:

  • American Revolutionary War (1775-1783)

  • American Civil War (1861-1865)

  • Spanish-American War (1898)

  • Mexican Revolution (1914-1919)

  • World War I (1917-1918)

  • World War II (1941-1945)

  • Korean War (1950-1953)

  • Vietnam War (1964-1973)

Each image includes a caption and other information such as date, location, name of camera operator (for photographs), and other notes.
